SinusLeistungsSteller - SLS Development/2011 |
In this section we provide frequently news on development and progress ... Details about the SLS are found here (click...) 29.12.2011: We finish this year with an additional software update. It primary brings some minor bug-fixes and some acceleration of the Windows-Monitor. The Windows-Monitor already supports the compact-SLS (cSLS), scheduled in 1Q/2012 ....... We wish all customers and interseted readers a healthy and successful 2012! 27.11.2011: Some impressions from our current development. The SLS will soon be available in a very compact version (cSLS), with all benefits of the sine-commutation! First will be a 24V-version (cSLS-24-xx) and a 60V-version (cSLS-60-xx), phase-currents up to 70Aac(continuous) or 100Aac(peak) are possible. We succeeded in taking over and even expand the complete functionality of the bigger SLS in some points, at dimensions of only about 77 x 42mm. We also made a big step forward in improving the input-caps, regarding capacity and current ripple endurance: Up to 17 caps (D=10mm) can be installed; in accordance with the cSLS-24-xx a possible max. input-capacity of about 17.000µF, with theoretical current ripple of 38A ... for the cSLS-60-xx it is about 5.500µF at 20A (each calculated with caps D=10mm L=23mm). The better the input is supported by the caps, the longer the accumulator supply line can be ... The image shows 2 mechanical dummies (test pottings from the new cSLS-mold) with different cap-assembly (D=10, L=16). In comparison to this: the bigger SLS. The hardware was already tested and did not disappoint our expectations. The more efficient DSP-variant of the cSLS will also be available soon, which enables position sensors in the motor (HALL-effect) or other add-ons like a CAN-interface. ![]() ![]() ![]() 19.08.2011: Gerhard and Jürgen Süß, the creators of the legendary Liebherr Radlader "have done it again". They successfully built a MAN-truck, their professional behavior in terms of construction and details should not stay unmentioned! For the motor they used of course reliable hardware: SLS-42-110 with a Torcman TM685-"Monster" with a 3-shift manual gear from a Simson-moped - of course switchable over remote control! :-) The truck itself weighs about 250kg, (the trailer is still under construction) despite the extra weight, the wheels are rotating in stand. Equal to the Radlader: torque without any end! ... you should see this LIVE! Gerhard also brought along the Radlader. With new firmware we were able to increase the max. RPM. Now the Radlader can move a little faster from A to B. The way the motors are built with a coreless outrunner and a resinated copper winding is very interesting. The very low inductance of such coreless motors in combination with a very high mass inertia is a real challenge for the SLS.The motors are intended to be used in a wind energy project. Mr.Löbbe already built bigger motors (see image) successfully, for various solar vehicles of the Bochum University ... Mr. Löbbe visited us today with Armin Nestler from Bochum University. Included were also a motor-pair with reinforced stator windings. During the tests, the motors were mechanically coupled with a "hose-coupling", in order to use one mashine as a motor and the other as generator. Both sides operated with a SLS-60-100, which shared a DC-source on the DC-side. In this case the energy flows in a loop and only the system losses must be resupplied by the DC-source. The generator current on the SLS can be adjusted with the monitor-sw, by that we can comfortably simulate a variably adjustable load. We were able to push the SLS-60-100 up to its current limt of 100Aac (at 53Vdc). The motor was able to withstand the current from 100Aac for a short ammount of time at about 5.000rpm in overload operation - the max. efficiency of the motor can surely be found at lower currents. Next time Mr. Löbbe plans to visit us with a even bigger motor. We are looking forward to it! :-))) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 14.07.2011: Here is a new software update, for the Windows-monitor and as well the SLS-firmware. The updates contain minor bug fixes (as usual) and a lot of improvements:
- 10 times faster recording speed of trace data (previously max. 10 samples/s; now up to 100 samples/s) - the trace memory can be configured as sequential- or as a ring buffer - general speed-up of the monitor software (e.g. faster upload of the trace memory) - the SLS-Windows-monitor works now without connected SLS-hardware (offline-mode) - tracefiles (*.SLT) can now be opened via double click (e.g. from hard disk) - comfortable installation of the SLS-Windows-monitor by the installation assistent - improved handling of over- and under voltage (all SLS starting with S/N 600 now working from 16Vdc) - improved handling of dangerous motor currents (especially in the area of the motor tilting moment) - preperation of the software for further hardware improvements, as well for new SLS-variants... ;-) 18.03.2011: For our Aktive Vorladeschaltung AVS we have a new improvement: Aside from the well known 150mA-version a new 250mA-variant is available. As soon as the remaining 150mA-AVS are sold, we will only build the AVS2 with 250mA. The AVS2 is our response to all requests, asking for a precharging circuit with more current. Now more controllers should be compatible with our AVS! ... and controllers with BEC also have a new chance! Our recommanded 14-day long test opportunity also applies for the AVS2. ![]() 03.01.2011: ...once again a year is over! ...and as always a new one starts, in which we want to surprise with a few innovations! :-) We wish our customers, friends and readers a happy and successful new year and hope, you remain loyal and support us onwards! Here once more our new address "as a reminder":
